The African Leadership Initiatives for Impact (ALII) in collaboration with HakiElimu has launched Tanzania NextGen Leaders Fellowship (TNLF), a program that focuses on capacity building, mentorship, practical leadership development experiences, and enabling participants to become change agents in their communities, nation, and beyond. The targeted participants of the fellowship is High School Graduates, aged between 17 – 19 years who are identified by their schools as best leaders in the respective academic year. The fellows are capacitated on leadership based on national and global priorities, leveraging the potential of young people to drive economic growth, foster innovation, and contribute to social cohesion.

The 1st Cohort of TNLF is scheduled to be convened from September 13t – 26th, 2025 in Dar es Salaam. All costs related to accommodation, meals and transport will be covered by organizers. 

Key activities: 

  • General Leadership Skills Trainings, 
  • Specific (areas of interest) Leadership Skills Training
  • Team Building Activities,
  • Learning Visits to respective sectors of leadership interests
  • Inter-generational Dialogues and
  • Post-Fellowship Mentorship programs.

Eligibility Criterias:

  • Be a Tanzanian citizen aged between 17-19 years (Born between 2006 – 2008)
  • A high-School student graduating in 2025
  • Nominated as outstanding leader in the respective form 6 class year
  • Proficiency in written & spoken Swahili and English Languages.
